My criteria are: 1) I like a good narrative, 2) I suck at speed reactions/hand-eye coordination challenges, 3) I like puzzle-solving, and 4) I'd prefer something that's not a giant undertaking lasting dozens of hours. Chants of Sennaar is a good example size-wise, though more robust narrative would be ideal.
Holly Becker@swan_tower Seconding the Outer Wilds rec. The puzzles *are* the narrative, as you fly around and try to figure out what's going on and what to do about it. Some coordination required to fly your spaceship in 3D with thrusters and momentum. Don't search for spoilers, 20-25 hours.
I also enjoyed Unpacking. No puzzles, but a chill game about unpacking someone's life though several moves. The story is told though their stuff and the environment. 3-4 hours.
