Treating myself to an awful game.

I want you to understand how awful this game is:

If you don't turn vsync on, you can't move. Framerates over 60fps cause the inputs to glitch out.

That's right, "hold RIGHT control to run" is not the worst thing about these controls.

Update: This thread GOES PLACES. 🧵

The cat can, however, operate an elevator.
The reason I'm playing it? It takes place on a fully modeled cruise liner! There's even two passengers! Over and over!
My job is to hunt mice. There's a LOT of mice.
This is the best kind of bad game.
Yes, it's on purpose. That's fine, I'm allowed to be entertained on purpose.

"SOMEONE needs to go upstairs and turn on the main sprinkler valve!!!"

Well, fortunately for you, I am a cat. That's what I do.

Cat's are experts at TURNING VALVES
This, uh... this game is actually... they put in EFFORT.
What the... the room has two cat-sized entrance vents and NO HUMAN DOORS.

I'm hunting the mice, but frankly I don't wanna.

Let's join them!

HAHAHA, the marble floors are ice physics.

This game... it's great!

It's terrible, but great!

The mice infesting the Apple store have phones. XD
Hahah, the plot of the game appears to be that there's an irradiated mutant rat on the loose, and it hates cats. And nuclear engineers.
The, uh, the rat just Godzilla-breathed me and the rest of the restaurant.

...

"People have been coming in with electrical burns, I've treated them. And someone dragged that cat in. I fed it some pills so it should be stronger now. It should go through the training room again to learn its new abilities."

This... game... I love it.

My special power is to levitate up and then slam down with a green ring.

The cat has no animation. It literally just stand-poses up and down and there's a green ring.

Oh no! I was repairing the nuclear reactor and the Godzilla rat jumped me!

They forgot to turn controls off, though, so I'm drifting around as an unconscious cat.

Now electric cat is in the theater.

I WAS in the nuclear reactor. Apparently the theater is just above it.

OK, GOTY of 2024 has to be done for now. Enough for the night.
@Craigp Honestly, this looks more like what I wanted out of Stray
@Craigp What game is this? My eight year old absolutely adores cats and will love this despite its issues.
@shanecelis It's called "Ship's Cat", it's on Steam!
@shanecelis You do kill mice, tho. If that's an issue, don't get it.
@Craigp "if you don't turn vsync on you can't move" this is a feature and should be required in every game
@Craigp so the game is designed for low power PC's
