Working on my old #iRobot #Scooba 340 floor washing robot today. It's been out of use for a few years due to a leaky tank (and since they've been out of production for a while, new tanks are really hard to come by). I found a cheap used tank on eBay that might hopefully work, but while that's in transit, I might as well give fixing this one a shot!

Looks like the seam in the body where the two halves of the tank are supposed to be ultrasonic welded together didn't get properly welded all the way around. Let's see if maybe hopefully we can fix that with some epoxy!

Well, looks like the repair on the old #Scooba tank was successful.... except I just found *new* holes in the seam weld I didn't previously know about. Joy.

But thankfully the new tank came in today, and IT WORKS!

GO SCOOBA STEVE! YEAAAHHH GO LIL' MAN!!

Nyoom :3

Welp... Spoke too soon. Scooba Steve's old NiCad battery is about a decade old now and I guess taking a couple of years off didn't help matters. Despite a full overnight charge, the battery died before it completed the cleaning cycle.

Guess I gotta buy a new one. Go go gadget Amazon! #iRobot #Scooba #DIY #repair
