Best thing in an FOSS implementation will be that someone can finally implement that setting to turn off the loop autoplay.

I love the short video format, but I will never understand why they should auto-repeat instead of auto-advance.

@dansup Well I DO have an idea about why: because users have to do fake 'engagement' interactions every 10s or they get served the same add 2 or 3 times in a row.

A win-win on a commercial platform.

@ch0ccyra1n @dansup @pixelfed How is that bad for the open web? What’s bad is devs not making anything yet working hard. To me that is more harmful and discouraging for devs to contribute in the best way possible. When people are motivated, happy and fulfilled they do their best work, if they have anxieties and worries that stifles that.
