The @nationalnurses guidance on AI in the healthcare setting is excellent. Talk about immediately seeing through the hype!

AI’s impact on nursing and health care

@alex Oh this is *searingly* good. Thanks for boosting it, Alex.
@beep Right? After that LN panel, I had to see if they had published anything on this. And they did not disappoint.
@alex I am *deeply* sad I headed home before that panel, I heard nothing but rave reviews about it.
@beep I can't wait till the recording is out.
@alex —oh shit I didn’t hear it was recorded, this is the best best news
@alex thank you for this. As someone working at the intersection of healthcare education and employment, and trying to get peers to see short and long term harms, this is extremely helpful to reference.
@alex I can't believe that this is a thing to be said

@alex @nationalnurses Meanwhile in the Land of Tea and Biscuits, the government is shoveling money at AI diagnosis oracles.

Not that I'm against new tech for cost savings in medical care, but maybe wait until it's a bit more mature and throughly studied before you start betting people's lives?

£21 million to roll out artificial intelligence across the NHS

The new technology will help diagnose patients more quickly for conditions such as cancers, strokes and heart conditions.

@Qybat @nationalnurses Ugh, yes. The NHS has unfortunately gone all-in.
