Our GNSS buoys in the glacier mélange are named after birds, fish and mammals and our snow site sensors are named after plants. I don't speak Greenlandic at all (yet), but this is a great way to learn a few words...

I hope to start a course in Greenlandic lamguage later this year, but I admit it's tough to fit everything on and the Greenlandic spoken in Qaanaaq is not often taught. It's a very different dialect I'm told.

Yes, in Qaanaaq Northern Greenlandic (#Inuktun) is spoken. If you want to learn a bit of #Kalaallisut (Western Greenlandic), this is a nice place to start:
