I don't know if it's a big enough deal to be a campaign issue, but the current city council approved ShotSpotter and is letting SPD basically ignore the Seattle Surveillance Ordinance. I wonder is there a way to connect with the local Stop ShotSpotter coalition?
@jdp23 @tariq oh good grief. Yanno, as a Canadian, I am not at all disinterested in US politics even at this level, because things like ShotSpotter are the sort of bullshit that 40% of our own elected officials see in the US and go "yeah, we should get us some of that". 😬
