I’m loving Moskowitz! He really did this.

Jared Moskowitz:

Just submitted an amendment to Bill drafting appointing MTG as Putin’s Special Envoy to the United States Congress.

Juliegrace Brufke:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced an amendment requiring members to “conscript in the Ukrainian military” if they vote for the Ukraine supplemental bill.

2/ Reminder, and I say this as a former comedy writer/director/performer:

Humor often reaches people where Serious doesn't. It creates an intimacy almost immediately with the audience.

It's useful.

So what looks like a "waste of time" is actually serving a purpose (big footing the GOP in the news cycle) at a moment when the GOP Fascist Party prevents normal process of legislation.

Just my 2 cents.

Kthxbye.

@GottaLaff
We may not like having to adopt their techniques against them, but in warfare one must use what will be most effective.
@GreenFire Since when do they use humor? They have none.

@GottaLaff
Good point except that I hear my neighbors laughing at their crap when I grab a sandwich at the diner though. I was just in a conversation over with @GovTrack and others about Greene and Moscowitz and how so many people on the left side of the aisle just laughs off what so many of them do because they seem stupid.

So to finally summarize, my reply to your discussion was not actually pertinent to it.

Maybe that will be my last mistake...for a few minutes at least.

@GreenFire @GottaLaff @GovTrack I agree that just laughing them off is unwise, however, fascists are notoriously thin -skinned and mockery aimed directly at them is super effective. Their insecurity is a weakness.
@quincypeck @GottaLaff @GovTrack
Yes and thanks for pointing that out. Indeed mockery is a powerful weapon against the authoritarian minded forces, eg Pussy Riot & Banksy, which is why Republicans' new superpower seems to be their apparent shamelessness.
