Europe’s coolest alternative app marketplace is HERE!

Introducing AltStore PAL — an Apple-approved version of AltStore exclusive to the EU

Download now from our website for just €1.50/year (+ VAT) 🇪🇺 https://altstore.io

AltStore

AltStore PAL is an open-source, crowd-funded app store for indies 👩‍💻

Distributing apps is entirely free, & developers can optionally distribute to just their patrons with our Patreon integration

And with no manual review process, developers are in full control of distribution!

We’re launching with two of our own apps:

🎮 Delta, an all-in-one Nintendo emulator
📎 Clip, a clipboard manager that can actually run in the background

Delta will be free, and Clip will require a pledge of €1 or more. Support for third-party apps is coming soon — so stay tuned!

There’s a lot more we haven't mentioned, so we also wrote a blog post with everything you need to know: https://rileytestut.com/blog/2024/04/17/introducing-altstore-pal/

Thanks to everyone who’s supported us on this journey, y'all are the best 💚

Oh, and for our friends outside the EU, there’s one more thing...

Introducing AltStore PAL

This is a day I’ve been looking forward to for over 10 years.

@altstore This is amazing news! Is Delta going to be available on iPad as well, or only iPhone?

@johncoxon I had the same question (found out it wasn't available by trying...), but looking it up, I don't think this is in the hands of Riley & Shane, see https://9to5mac.com/2024/01/26/ios-17-app-stores-and-more-ipad-changes/

It's a slightly old article (Jan 26th). It states that Apple wasn't forced by the EU to support alternative marketplaces on iPad(OS), so they probably won't.

You might still be able to use the AltServer version.

iPad users will miss out on third-party app stores, browser engines, and more - 9to5Mac

Yesterday, Apple announced some major changes to the App Store and the broader iPhone platform in the European Union, including...

9to5Mac
@thorgal I'm not in the EU!
@johncoxon Ah, in that case, good question! As far as I can find, Apple has already allowed one other emulator which claims iPad support in the App Store (Emu64 XL), so Apple shouldn't be the hindrance here.
