You get a cold drink and you get to choose what it comes in.
What’s the container made of?
Ceramic, glass, metal, plastic?

I think most cold drinks taste best out of a glass.

@LunarJade I wouldn’t oppose ceramic but glass is gas
@LunarJade I've always prefered glass... But I've only ever drunk water from a ceramic container...

@LunarJade Glass, no question.

Extra points if they've stirred the drink so it frosts the glass.

@LunarJade glass probably

Maybe a plastic bottle if I was going somewhere

@LunarJade Glass is definitely best, though I'm not super opposed to any of the options.
@LunarJade glass is lovely but only if I am not moving around. I’ll sit with a glass but if I need to stand and move about a party; I feel way better with a sturdier material.
@LunarJade
If it's still then I'll agree, glass is best.
If it's fizzy then I prefer it in metal.
I'm not sure why the distinction, but fizzy pop definitely tastes better (to me) from a can. Or drunk through a metal straw.
@LunarJade Ceramic or glass, the metal conducts too much heat and I'm trying to move away from plastics.
@LunarJade If it's a carbonated beverage that comes in a can then I'll take the can. But otherwise glass.
@LunarJade A cold drink? Glass no question, and I don’t know if it is a placebo thing but I like it even more if the glass has thicker sides

@LunarJade

We think things -do- taste better out of glass but we're wildly forgetful, so we tend to go metal just so the cold thing remains cold.

@LunarJade Usually it’s glass for me as well, but I’ll sometimes have iced tea in a metal tumbler/mug during the summer. Don’t have much of a preference either way, although I do like how the latter stays a bit colder.
@LunarJade Glass, but I am curious to try a cold beverage in a chilled copper mug. Just seems neat.
@LunarJade
If I'm not at a table then priority takes whichever comes with a big enough of an ear for at least two fingers to go through and then to whichever is shaped so I can comfortably and securely hold it such my pinkie and ring finger can go under it for support.
@LunarJade depends on the drink. If it's a beer, wine, spirit, or mixed drink, then glass. If it's a dry mead, then horn (I don't like sweet mead, so I'd choose a different drink if the only mead available is sweet). If it's a soft drink, then either glass or plastic. If it's lassi (regardless of whether it's sweet or salty), then stainless steel if available, glass or plastic if not. If it's sparkling water, then pretty much anything works; sparkling water tastes slightly metallic anyway.
@LunarJade I'd go with glass too, but that might just be familiarity for me.

@LunarJade Glass, absolutely. It tastes better and feels nicer somehow and sounds nicer especially if it is a drink with ice.

I have an insulated stainless steel water bottle for when I'm in transit so I don't tend to "take away" drinks.
