My #CrossBorderRail train is… a 🚌

Rail replacement buses Mulhouse 🇫🇷 - Müllheim (Baden) 🇩🇪 for months now (supposedly due to lack of train drivers)

Oh and I’m not going cross border

Because Mulhouse to Bantzenheim it’s €2,30 and Neuenburg (Baden) €6,20 - although just 4.3km further, but in Germany, so they happily screw you for more, and neither SNCF Grand Est reduction cards not Deutschlandticket are valid on the cross border section

And this must be Germany’s worst #CrossBorderRail border - Baden-Württemberg to France. Nothing works as it should - infra, service, timetables, tickets.

And yes, the infra might be even worse elsewhere, but at other borders some of the other things work.

When you hear French and German politicians talk of their important friendship… well it sure doesn’t extend to the politics of public transport.

@jon Although I lived right across the border for most of my life, I almost never just went to France, because it was always a hassle to get there. At least the regional bus to the EuroAirport is finally supposed to come soon (this might improve the connection)
@jon The Strasbourg-Kehl tram seems okay at least
@lexande except Deutschlandticket is only available on the German bit. But yes the service is ok.
@jon And it's just a normal ticket from the French side, with no extra charge for crossing the border, right?
