I like the speed with which Phai caught on to what was up.

I still wonder what she does for a living and if that's gonna show up later. There are only 3 episodes left, including this one.

The opening to My Dear Gangster Oppa is so much better with lyrics.

Like, the instrumental version -- especially in the beginning -- is very minimal, and missing much of the melody in the vocals.

I'm still not sure why they decided to release it without them. It's not like the lyrics are spoilers.

It's a very cute song, when it's allowed to be its cohesive whole. It needs its topline to thrive!

The resigned sigh from Tul when Tew verbalized his suspicion that they've been drugged.

Muffin like: but nothing's missing, meanwhile both Guy and Boss are.

Aww, the crew want to help find Guy. And Tew is getting grey hairs over it.

See, Phai is lowkey threatening Tew if he doesn't get Guy back. So like. 🎵 Oh who is sheee? 🎶

Tul: "Make me hurt so I can learn from this."

Tul, no!

Boss, that's weird. That's weird, Boss.

(Linking your unrequited crush and yourself through a location tracking app without asking.)

It made sense when Bun did it in Manner of Death. He didn't trust Tan, and wanted to track him. Aiyaret had obvious ulterior motives when he did it. And I don't think Nhai could access his location. Or, at least, he didn't tell Nhai that he could.

Or was this intentional? But, the order seemed to be improvised that night.

Tul wants stress relief in the form of beating people down.

And now it's time for fighting.

I like that, despite his fear of being on the wrong side of Tew, he's also nobody to sleep on.

Oh that guy has broken limbs. Like, they're not showing it. He might not even have it in the story. But he fell from that height onto a stone floor. That's broken limb territory.

Yeah, Boss earned that.

I'm not sure that sending Boss to help Tew would normally do much but distract Tew since he has no reason to trust Boss.

Kenji missed. Like Boss got in the way. But also, Kenji missed by a lot. Were his sunglasses prescription?

No. There is no injury taken in a beatdown, that is improved by alcohol. Even exhaustion.

Guy saying Boss saved his life.  I mean, he tried. And he got shot. But Kenji missed.

Ah, a #MeenPing staple: them taking a shower together, while Ping's character has a thousand yard stare courtesy of stress. Especially with self blame.

Boss still shooting his shot. It's almost cute. It didn't work. But he tried.

What's it like, getting to rest and be cared for because of a mild fever? As opposed to barely processing it exists, and carrying on with your day?

Tew's zippo design is kinda neat.

Oh now Tew has the self blame 1000 yard stare.

Aww, Tul ready to fight, again.

Why does Kenji have matching bruises on either side of his lips? Also, is this when they met?

Kenji risked his life for Tew? Why? And Tew saved his in return, though indirectly.

Interesting parallels: Paiboon told Tew to decide how to handle Kenji, who betrayed his boss to save Tew. Now Tew does the same with Tul, having him decide how to handle Boss, who betrayed Kenji, to save Guy (for Tul).

Kenji's motives were almost certainly not the same as Boss's though, and he was allowed to remain and join the syndicate, only to betray them.

Meanwhile Tul has kicked Boss out of their social group. And I suspect we might see more evidence of Boss trying to prove his loyalty.

Present day:

Shock! Kenji isn't dead! He says he can't be killed that easily, but, tbf, Tew did stab him in the gut. It's a reasonable assumption to make on his part.

Nice of Kenji to clean the knife before returning it.

Wahl literally just hopping back into Guy's life like nothing has happened.

Meanwhile, this whole experience is surreal to Guy, likely for a few reasons.

• literally everything that's happened not too long ago
• Wahl being like this when their last conversation was... tense at best.
• probably wondering when Nami will call again and the status quo returns.

Wahl asserting that he can't be made at Guy bc they're best friends is not helping the surreality for Guy. lol

Oh my gods, Wahl is like, really trying to make it up to Guy in that way that is kind of unsustainable. I'd call it sweet, but I have an odd feeling about it myself. Like, it's coming on a little strong, and leaves me nervous about another shoe dropping. But that might just be me.

Fuck. What is Tew doing? Is he trying to die?

So Wahl is gonna help with the restaurant? Okay. He was only super distrustful of Tew the entire time they've known each other.

I hope he gets that it might take a bit more than being chipper towards Tew to sort out tensions between the three of them.

Oh, now Wahl is just flat out lying about whether he ever had a problem with Tew.

He's literally why Guy found out Tew was in the mafia -- bc he didn't like him and decided to investigate him.

And I doubt he's as understanding about Guy turning down his offer to help as he says he is.
