Pixel art practice day 2, this time using Pixquare with a predefined palette. With the colors available I wasn't sure what to do with the sky once I had drawn the tree. A good lesson for next time is to think about this beforehand.

Pixel art practice day 3, a fixed palette landscape. This time I started with the sky, I think it turned out pretty well!

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 4, an ancient tome full of magical spells or something. Very happy with this one! 32×32 with the same fixed palette as the last couple of days.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 5, an adventurer resting. Another 32×32 fixed palette exercise.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 6, a little fox! 32×32 with a fixed palette.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing #fox

Pixel art practice day 7, a wizard running. I'm not very happy with this one, but hey, it's practice.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing #wizard

Pixel art practice day 8, a volcano. Yup.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 9, a beach in the Pacific Northwest drawn in four colors. Love that part of the world!

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing #pnw #coast

Pixel art practice day 10, a highly motivated biker! Thanks for the suggestion @everts 👍

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 11, a bakery. Ran out of colors and/or talent for the background, but I'm very happy with the scene itself!

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 12, a nice little sword.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 13, improved tree. I loaded up the tree I drew on day two and improved it a bit using a bigger palette (64 colors instead of 32) and newfound skills.

Pixel art practice day 14, recreated an image by James Julier (https://www.instagram.com/p/C6BrCnLtuI9/?igsh=bXJzdGtmd3FmdXZp) in 64×64 pixels and 64 colors. Challenging and fun!

Pixel art practice day 15, an alchemist's desk. Could provably have spent more time on it, but it will do.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 16, a house in the forest. A bit rushed at the end, but it was fun. I imagine it's a level in a cute little fantasy game.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 17, a potent potion.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing

Pixel art practice day 18, oranges. I was going to draw a collection of different fruits, but it turned out one was quite enough for the day.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing #orange #oranges

Pixel art practice day 19, a family of mushrooms.

#pixelart #practice #dailydrawing #mushrooms

Pixel art practice day 20 (after a bit of a break) another little house

#pixelart #practice #house

Pixel art practice day 21, a jet bike. I have drawn variations of this hundreds of times on various notepads in meetings throughout the years, so I nailed the basic shape on the first try.

Pixel art practice day 22, a monopod, as suggested by @bjoreman This was a funny vehicle I modeled in 3D Studio way, way back. I accidentally picked a 32x32 canvas for this one, but in a way I prefer drawing tiny images.

Pixel art practice day 23, ancient temple ruins in the jungle. A very quick little drawing, 32x32 with a fixed 64 color palette.

@gunnarsson good work. Let me know if you are interested to hear suggestions and constructive feedback.
@gnarly_parker Oh absolutely, but perhaps not on this one. I wasn't really feeling it and mostly wanted to get something out.
@gunnarsson OK then the other one where I'd have a similar comment :D
@gunnarsson It's not a rule per se but what people generally expect when looking at landscapes is this: The foreground colors are more saturated, vibrant, and also darker. The colors of scenery and objects in the distance are more pale, less saturated and tend to be brighter due to more light scattering happening between the eye and the place. This is something you may want to try when selecting colors and values for landscapes. (Sunrise and sunset are special cases.)
@gunnarsson I like how you document your progress. 😎
@gunnarsson Surely I’m not the only one hoping for a gallery page at some point?
@gunnarsson I am pretty happy with it though 😃 Love the sense of movement!
