Yet most of us who were non-conventional growing up, were basically bullied and abused to fit in to our parents’ lives. My dad loves me and it's obvious, but otoh is famous for making promises that go nowhere, excluding us from what he did, etc. He's taught me to be a great dad by showing me how bad it feels to be not chosen to do anything with your parent, or to have them not follow through on something for you
