backstory of the photo is that if you ship an app in @jordibruin’s (or Hidde’s) office, you get to sign one of the model ships on his window ledge 😎

@iandundas Love the UI, definitely beats my current solution of having a giant master list Notes, and copying and deleting big chunks before every trip. However, I couldn’t use it without shared lists - my wife and I usually pack collaboratively. I also usually do the initial planning on Mac, and then check off from my phone.

This is major scope creep though, feel free to ignore me!

@brandonhorst totally hear that, my previous solution was a shared Notion database with my wife as well so that is top priority to add. But if I tried to release already with syncing I would never release. Syncing with other family members, and also syncing with your own devices. v2.0!

@brandonhorst just following up, I’m curious what syncing would look like for you in the best case? Options are, I guess 1: you have a family account and the app is just mirrored exactly across everyone’s devices (packs, trips and packed/unpacked states)
2: someone creates and shares a trip and anyone (with a link etc) can add packs/items from their own personal collection into it, packed/unpacked state is shared.
3: I’m not sure but surely other permutations

@iandundas I would personally prefer option 2. I could imagine times where I’d want to pack collaboratively with people who aren’t my wife (group camping trips, a weekend with the bros, etc). If you’re using iCloud for sync, that’s also much much more feasible I believe.

It’s a whole can of worms, though. Don’t do all this work just because a hypothetical user says it’d be useful!

@iandundas That looks amazing. 🤩 Finally somebody copied the concept of my first app I never got around to update. (FYI: https://packinglistapp.com)

I saw a small bug when you add items. If you tap a pack the correct pack is openend, but the visual selection is for the pack below.
