Today I discovered: #EastLothian is home to #Scotland's first ever #vinyl pressing plant! Dave & Dominique Harvey, the #NorthBerwick -based owners of #SeabassVinyl want their #Macmerry plant to be as sustainable as possible, using wind power and with plans to install solar panels and a battery system for energy storage.

@paulb3017 solar in Scotland. Who’s been doing crack then huh?
@feedmd microclimate in #EastLothian which gets lowest rainfall in #Scotland apparently! (Allegedly, I haven't checked if it's true). Certainly plenty of wind, I know that for a fact!
@paulb3017 wind might work on small scale. I’m from there. Solar is a total waste of time. Damn a river. Install power generator. That’s the ticket :)
@feedmd you're a bit behind the times though - there's a new generation of solar which doesn't require bright sunlight but feeds off ultraviolet rays instead, meaning clouds don’t hinder energy production
