🔴 BREAKING NEWS: Mike Lynch-White, Scientist Rebellion co-founder and Palestine Action activist, has been sentenced to 17 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and 262h community service for his involvement in the Heathrow Pause action of 2019.

He has been sentenced for "conspiracy to commit a public nuisance", along with Roger Hallam and Dr Larch Maxey, each sentenced to 2 ys suspended for 2 years. Outrageously, the judge altered the terms of the charge following their defence, clearly to obtain a guilty verdict. 2/6

Last year Mike received one of the longest prison sentences in UK history for non-violent protest - 23 months, serving 10 - for taking part in a Palestine Action protest in which a weapons factory was occupied and temporarily shut down. 3/6

Since then, Israel has escalated from the illegal occupation of Gaza to an all out seige, including the deliberate, ongoing starvation of millions. The British state, while locking up those like Mike who oppose war crimes, is an active accomplice, alongside much of the west. 4/6

He has received harsh sentences because he has protested both the arms industry and climate destruction, facing arrest ~20 times: either we will construct a world built on the principles of peace and justice, or this world will go under for everyone. 5/6
