Concerning the post above, this obituary of J.C. Rogers has surfaced, but I'm having trouble working out a few of the words/phrases within it.

In case anyone can help, the main ones are what look "the old A Co. 1st V.B.D.C.L.L." in the third paragraph and "in this matter" at the end of last long paragraph.

I've pasted my first pass at a transcription in the alt text for the image here.

@ghostsigns "A Co. 1st V.B.D.C.L.I." is A Company 1st Volunteer Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. The part in the paragraph near the end which looks like "in this matter" is probably a typo reading "in this mater". There's a typo above that too which says "There were few finer judges of a bird thhan he", so wouldn't be unprecedented. The photographer Opie is either Henry Opie or Edgar Opie, both of Redruth.
@Vibracobra23 Fine work Chris, much appreciated, and bravo!
