Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed in Memphis 56 years ago today.

He died while visiting the city in support of sanitation workers who were striking for better pay and safety measures.

Let's honor MLK's legacy by renewing our commitment to both racial and economic justice.

A reminder that folks are willing to commit murder to keep their low-wage workers and keep limits on their civil rights

The #Episcopal Church commemorates him today as a martyr & prophet.

"Almighty God, by the hand of Moses your servant you led your people out of slavery, and made them free at last: Grant that your Church, following the example of your prophet Martin Luther King, may resist oppression in the name of your love, and may strive to secure for all your children the blessed liberty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever." 🙏🏽
