Gas per litre just went over $2 in Nanaimo - it was $1.71 a week ago, don't try and tell me a 3.3 cent p/l carbon tax increase caused this

call it out - it's frigging corporate price gouging

#CDNpoli #BCpoli

@MatWright When tobacco taxes went up the companies typically slipped a price increase in at the same time.
@MatWright They [the oil companies] timed for the outrage farming, and because they could hide another price increase because 99.9% of the population doesn't know how much the carbon tax is per litre, at the pumps.

@martin_fff deliberately exploited of course by PP

Do have to laugh PP saying that shit in BC, when we are one of 2 provinces exempt, with our own system - (though we need price caps - fossil will gouge right to the end)

@MatWright I fear we overestimate the number of BCers who understand there is a difference between the BC Carbon Tax and the Federal one [everyone else has]
@martin_fff snort, it's like 1% who understand - and I include MLAs in that total
@martin_fff @MatWright ... and because it will help them get corporate tax cuts once the conservatives fleece enough people into voting for them

@MatWright
Ever ask the question to oil companies … why do #gasprices elsewhere stay roughly the same as Metro Vancouver, yet places outside #MetroVancouver do not have the added 18.5 cent Translink tax? Price today in the city was $2.029 Nanaimo the same?

So basically, oil companies charge people outside metro more for gas? People who typically drive more and have fewer alternatives, such as transit.

Time to switch to #electric and cut your car energy cost by 80%

@MatWright yes!! Perfect time to inflict some serious pain on voters to blame whatever policy is getting in the way of easy and predictable fat margins, and whichever non--friend in charge you want ousted

@MatWright

$2.00 Canadian $?

That's $1.47 USD

Cheap gas here (Seattle-ish) is $4.19.
