It's amazing how many politicians actively attack the many things that make #Portland such an amazing place to live! For the record, I don't use a car, I avoid delivery services, and I believe potholes need to be fixed.

As a Portland City Commissioner Candidate, I refuse to turn a blind eye to the mismanagement of taxpayer dollars by PBOT. It's outrageous that while our roads crumble beneath us, PBOT has squandered precious resources on ill-conceived road diets. Their fixation on promoting…

@kenjen > Businesses rely on vehicles to deliver their goods, and they need adequate parking for their customers. Yet, bike lanes have depleted those essential resources.

She's trying to turn car drivers against bicyclists, making them feel personally attacked for the fact that bike lanes exist. It's more pathetic than amazing, far as I can see. Hardly convincing.

@cy I guess I just find the level of blind disregard for reality amazing. Nowhere in the U.S. I've ever been to or heard of had enough parking. Not only that, I can watch from the top floor of my apartment and see roughly 20-30% on bicycles. The only real parts of that Twitter post was the statement that the roads are bad, drivers need to be able to park their cars, and trucks make deliveries.

You'd think you'd have a basic understanding on the subject matter your entire campaign is built upon!

@kenjen Less disregard and more deliberate deception. She probably thinks if she pretends that a lie is true long enough, enough people will fall for it, to win her the popular vote. She's also probably going against what's popular, because she's being paid by the auto industry to trick Portland into becoming Detroit.
@kenjen That's all speculation though. She could also just be a useful idiot, and the guys getting paid under the table are just setting her up to be their figurehead.
@cy I guess my problem is that I attribute to stupidity and ignorance thing that could be attributed to malice... thus makng me an acolyte of the person famous for that quote o, well, its inverse.
@kenjen I leave a lot of room for stupidity, but talking about how much Portlanders hate bicycles and want more cars everywhere, again, for like the third politician this year, is a bit beyond an honest mistake.
