Be careful biking in this area at night! Someone has dumped or taken delivery of a large pile of gravel, aggregate, or dirt and the pile extends into the roadway quite a bit!
I hit it and was thrown into the handlebars of my bike. I now have a bruise and broken skin on my stomach.

Little detours, planned (exploring new routes) and unplanned (trains blocking a railroad crossing for too long!), were inspiring. I love exploring Chicago and learn new routes. And cycling is just good for (my) mental health, being outside with others who are enjoying the weather and city.
