I'll never get over the fact that a president who tried to overthrow the government wasn't immediately imprisoned and is somehow allowed to run again.
@DrJackBrown Hes not. According to the 14th amendment he committed insurrection and is ineligible to serve in office
@CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown He was never convicted. Part of what makes US wealth tick is that it's so hard to prove someone guilty... if they have the funds to hire fightin' lawyers. Al Capone was only pegged for tax evasion largely, IMHO, because he faced public lawyers (not a well-paid gig). Bankman-Fried, Madoff, Holmes face plaintiffs wealthier than they were. https://www.capitalisnt.com/episodes/how-big-law-firms-shape-capitalism-with-david-enrich
How Big Law Firms Shape Capitalism, With David Enrich | Capitalisn't

After previously exploring the worlds of 'consultants for sale' and 'scientists for sale,' Luigi and Bethany turn their attention to another broken system of 'enablers' - the world of lawyers for sale. With award-winning investigative journalist David Enrich, they discuss David's latest book, "Servants of the Damned: Giant Law Firms, Donald Trump, and the Corruption of Justice." Enrich presents several case studies showing how 'Big Law' firms have used their wealth and influence to capture the justice system, serving the interests of their wealthy clients at the expense of ordinary Americans. With Bethany and Luigi, he discusses: How can we restore the integrity of our legal institutions? What are the broader implications for the rule of law in a society dominated by economic and political interests?

Capitalisn't

@janisf @CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown If he was never convicted of insurrection, use the second word….

“shall have engaged in insurrection or REBELLION against the same,”

I don’t know about you, but I know what I SAW with my own eyes!

Common sense MUST be restored, people! 🤯

@leswarden
Restored? It can be argued, easily, that Hitler modelled Nazism after US racism. Brits have long held they can "take care of" land, artifacts, religion, you name it, better than the people who'd been managing just fine for 6000 years.

We're not restoring anything. A new generation is just now figuring out how social power works, and how evil and gullible humainty has been.
@CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown

@CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown
And the Supreme Court *unanimously* decided that Trump is a very special boy, so that doesn't count.

@CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown yes, but, but, they have to go to court and argue what the word ‘THE’ means! 😤

People have lost all their common sense! 🤯

#TraitorTrump

@CaptMorgan @DrJackBrown

It's an argument against conspicuous wealth, if that can be used to deny justice.

@DrJackBrown And is allowed to run a pump-and-dump scheme to pay his bail while out on bail. He's a god.
@DrJackBrown He would have been no one if he had no support. Question why we are still afraid he might win.

@DrJackBrown

If he were put away as he should be, the establishment wouldn't be able to dangle him over us like a pendulum in the pit anymore.

The narrative needs a villain to keep us on the edge of our seats.

@violetmadder @DrJackBrown
I've said this elsewhere: if my job performance was based on comparing me to the least qualified person to do my job in the world, I'd probably take advantage of that. And we've decided that's how we should determine how well the President is doing?

@jargoggles @DrJackBrown

As soon as the worst Republicans are defeated, the DNC knows damn well their base will expect them to let us kick the "change things for the better now that we finally have the breathing room" football.

Which is why they will never, ever let that happen.

@DrJackBrown You can thank GOP control of the Senate for that. They voted not to convict him after he was impeached in the House. Because of [un]equal apportionment among states, 30% of Americans vote for 70% of the senators while 70% of Americans are allowed to vote for only 30% of the senators.
@DrJackBrown
That #DefendantTrump wasn’t perp walked out of the White House in cuffs and leg irons at 10:00pm on January 6th is a failure of American principles akin to the Gulf of Tonkin, Iran-Contra, and WMDs.
@DrJackBrown
"I'm sure he's learned his lesson *this* time"

@DrJackBrown

I can't believe that his attempt to force his Secret Service to take him to help the mob storm the capitol didn't result in his injury or death.
