I have used the internet of the ISP using wifi from a friend and after checking on ipleak.net [http://ipleak.net] it seems like it is working does being my own mobile data change the situation much . I am using tge wireguard protocol on a third party client rather than the official app of the vpn does wireguard protect against vpn blocks ? I have tried to find answers on reddit, ddg etc. but i think my question is too specific to get an answer or idk how to use search engine.

It sounds like you're in the USA, which is among the countries where commercial ISPs deliberately blocking VPN use is pretty much unheard-of, so that's probably why you're not finding much info about it.
Nop not in the US

It's pretty rare in the rest of the world as well, outside Asia and the Middle East. Here's a handy map: https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/internet-censorship-map/

If you are in a country where they try to block all VPNs, using Wireguard probably isn't going to be enough in itself to avoid the problem any more, since it's justifiably become quite popular.

There is no such thing as a “VPN block”, only individual VPN protocols being blocked. “All of these protocols implement VPNs” is not something that can be recognized automatically by software. Conversely there is no such thing as a mechanism to prevent all kinds of detection of VPN traffic since it is bound to be noticeable that most of your traffic goes to a single or a small number of recipients.
I get that so is wireguard blockable ? And does using wifi and data matter much in this situation ?

Everything is “blockable”, it just depends on what your ISP wants to do today. Tomorrow they may have different goals.

Best thing to do is setup multiple VPN connections, so you always have an option to swit to should one become blocked. And continue to research and plan other VPNs, just in case.

Never know what tomorrow brings.

take a look at VPN services that offer obfuscation such as V2Ray or obfs4, so even if an ISP blocks your usage, you can use the obfuscation to bypass it. i think Mullvad offers this but not sure.
