Despite the name, the monastery was run by nuns albeit long, long ago. #Fai tour guide told us lots about the location and there's a very informative video - in Italian - too. It's north west of #Milan near Gornate Olona. There's lovely looking #restaurant there too. #Culture
#Italian #curiosity: In Italian, monks can be male and female, and monasteries and convents may be occupied either by females or males, presumably not both at the same time. As far as I know, in English, monasteries are only for male monks and convents are for only female nuns. #language
