A Windows user, a Mac user, and a Linux user walk into a bar.

➡️ The #Windows user orders a beer and gets into a fight over how bloated the selection is.

➡️ The #Mac user orders the most expensive single-origin craft cocktail and smugly admires its minimalist design.

➡️ The #Linux user installs a whole brewery in the corner and declares free drinks for everyone, but then spends the rest of the night explaining why their homemade brew is objectively superior.

@nixCraft and the sad part is that's all true...

@nixCraft

I use moonlight-grown hops only, btw

@nixCraft Installs a brewery, declares free drinks, but 3 out of 10 guests also need to drink the beer out of specialised glasses, and another one simply cannot taste anything.
@nixCraft And the linux user will also explain the 30 different ways to build the brewery...
@maryjane @nixCraft diversification is good, it brews different flavours for the beers 😃🫣
@nixCraft Somebody tries to get a beer from the free brewery. They immediately get food poisoning and have to go to the hospital, they never checked if their body hardware was compatible. The issue is so obscure that nobody at the hospital can help. After countless hours of digging on obscure internet forums, it turns out there's an antidote, but it must be made from a fruit that only grows in Malaysian forests. It turns out the antidote doesn't actually work. After a few more attempts, it's discovered that the fruit must be harvested in june; the only other person who ever had this problem before actually tried it in june, so they were fine and they didn't know it was a requirement.
@nixCraft as usual, the best jokes are in the comments :D
@nixCraft
"I drink Arch, BTW."
@nixCraft An a drunkard in the corner interjects to force you to call it GNU/Brew.
@nixCraft As you savor that Linux homebrew, there is a cute SCO girl in the corner winking at you. She seems nice.

The home-made brew *is* objectively superior, @nixCraft , or rather, it *was* before it went flat in the barrel while the #linux user was faffing about with Kernel patches and modules and other hardware stuff.

… funny, `lspci` clearly *shows* the beer-tap is connected and `dmesg` seems fine …

… can't we *please* just pull it with a handle on the old bar?

… no, NO! I had this tap working just last night under Ubuntu.

… but with the proprietary firmware?

… yes, this new FOSS driver ...

@nixCraft Then a second #Linux user comes along, decides that the free drinks are not quite right and the brewery in the corner was not installed correctly. So another brewery appears in the opposite corner...
@nixCraft Only problem is you gotta get your binary bits (let’s say, water) from the well down the road, pump it by hand, and then it doesn’t work.
