@sonny @sophie are these straight up just rust rewrites of things that already worked before? you all seem focused on code churn now rather than actual improvements, congrats!

@sonny
I am working on a GTK/#Relm4 password manager already 😎
But it is a client for #BitWarden/#VaultWarden only.
You want to build a local one?

#GTK #Rust #rustlang #GNOME #Linux #Ubuntu #Linux #Fedora #OpenSUSE #Debian

@sonny I would love to apply, but I don't think I have the time :(
(Nor would my imposter syndrome allow it :))
Happy to see more Rust adoption though

@FineFindus don't let the imposter syndrome hold you back 🙏

But yeah otherwise, for a job you need time 😃

@sonny Ohhhh, very neat! Is there some kind of design document/feature document?

E.g., sync support 0:-)

@sonny
Jia Tan is open to work and he really like security projects 😂
@sonny i wish i could say this is interesting but i have a feeling gnome is no better with employment than it is with PR
@sonny April 1st, the first Monday after the `xz` incident, is perhaps a bad day to post a job working on a security feature
@sonny I would hope that you're also including experience writing secure S/W. IMO that's the most important criterion for working on a password manager (and no, I don't qualify for any of the criteria.)
@sonny I know of one Jia Tan, he's pretty good with open source and critical infrastructure I hear and he's looking for a new gig
@sonny That sounds like a super interesting project to work on!
@sonny We might be able to help @mainmatter – let's have a chat some time this week with you, me and @algo_luca ?
@sonny would love if it has support for #keepassxc file format .
