I went to see some of the Giants of Mandurah yesterday. They are quite spread out, so I only saw two on a 22 km round trip by bicycle from the train station. I guess I'll try and get to the other three some other time.

It would be nice if they were a bit more accessible. The first was a fair distance from the closest car park. There were a few people pushing wheel chairs on the way, but the final approach was a dirt path up a hill.

I was kind of curious to see exactly how far it would be to see all five giants, starting and stopping at train stations.

I think this is the most efficient route, and is a bit over 90 km: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oGAwh7TPcxK6PiRM6. Skipping the last giant cuts the journey down to 50 km, which is more manageable but still a long way.

I understand the intent was to get people to explore Mandurah, but it kind of feels like they could have done that with a more obvious path between them or putting them a bit closer together.

@jamesh we walked to the first one with preschoolers. 2/10 would not do again. Even despite the water treatment plant.

@zanchey the scavenger hunt style of the official website and app kind of work against letting people decide which trips they are capable of. I'm glad others have added the locations to Google Maps, which makes it a bit easier.

The guy in the wheelchair I saw ended up stopping at the bottom of the hill while the rest of his group walked up.
