howiecohen@lightningjeff there's so much controversy around the day, it seems like the various camps just can't agree, when, from my point of view, it's very clear: Reese's eggs are the best-tasting shape of Reese's.

@howiecohen Ah jeez. See, I took your journey a few years ago, went from 220 to 140-something. Then my knees and ankles and (for some reason) a pandemic decided I couldn’t (wouldn’t?) run anymore. Back up to 190s until I put my foot down in January. Down 25, and it’s not even hard, but … no candy, no snacks. It’s the only way the martinis are still in the budget. (Picture of health over here.)
@lightningjeff When I was actively dieting I was pretty strict on the snacks, but I never completely eliminated them, just smaller portions and less frequently. Having to stop running would be rough though-it isn't the biggest part of calorie control but it sure helps. At some point my arthritis will probably slow me down there, but thankfully not yet. Walking/weights day today.
@howiecohen I actually really like running and was consistently winning the 40-49 division of the 10ks I ran. I was bummed and felt pretty defeated when I decided I had to stop. Lightning strike in 2000 destroyed the soft tissue in both knees. The ankles I ruined on my own. I might give it a try again when I drop a few more.
@lightningjeff I am very much a more causal runner, shorter distances and slow, but I do enjoy it. Losing weight *dramatically* improved my arthritis pain. Hope you are able to get back to it in some way!
@lightningjeff Listening to the Classic Traffic song now-thanks! I am really loving the Byland lp. She was a guitar student of Jessica Dobson (Deep Sea Diver) and I think you can really hear that on this album. They won a Sonic Guild grant this past year too!
