Americans: you know. green. like money

Rest of the world: ???

@eniko I'm still low-key pissed off that we've never gotten cool modern plastic money, and now we never will, since cash is increasingly irrelevant.
@glassbottommeg @eniko I want weird assed transparent plastic chips like existed in the sci-fi I grew up with. The actual future has been a massive disappointment.
@glassbottommeg @eniko I love that the innovators in plastic money were the Australians because then you could keep it in your shorts while you were surfing
@glassbottommeg @eniko our notes are basically plastic now, but as noted they are increasingly irrelevant.
@glassbottommeg @eniko You mean you don’t just have a pile of temporary Visa cards with unknown amounts of money from various rebate services that you sometimes treat as mystery value bills when buying things? 😆
@eniko Meanwhile in Canada: You mean 20$
@eniko purple! Purple is objectively the best money colour

@eniko

Look, I mean -- some of our money is green...

@eniko for the longest time I thought green was just slang for $20 bills (Canadian).
@eniko counterpoint: thisk led to the greatesk game cover of all

@eniko Green is weed. At least, that’s the word we used to use. But I come from a place where money was blue for little money, double that and it’s orange, double it again and it’s purple, and then a £50 was red.

*it may have changed, I haven’t lived there for a long time, and I don’t know if they changed it when Queenie died.

@eniko which, let's face it, is also a stretch. The dollar bill is a lot more white than green to me
