The hydraulic system broke, we landed safely and are now being towed but it’s never a pleasant experience when a pilot has to say “don’t panic”.
@Gargron You do realized that jets are designed with multiple redundant hydraulic systems so that this isn't as big of a deal as you try to make it.

Using the secondary hydraulic system doesn't require an announcement to the passengers unless there is a bigger problem; nor does it require that the aircraft be towed to the gate.

@PeterLG @Gargron Failure of one hydraulic system will result in a precautionary emergency landing. Emergency <> Unsafe. It is standard practice to tow an aircraft after a hydraulic failure. I've been on two planes that made emergency landings (one engine failure, one electrical issues in the cockpit) and in neither case did I feel unsafe. Attached as an example is a system diagram for a 737 hydraulic system.
