Oy vey! #blender 4.1 is out. By some accident, everything mentioned under Video Sequencer section is my fault. https://www.blender.org/download/releases/4-1/#vse
4.1 — blender.org

Blender 4.1 is a solid release with quality of life improvements and performance enhancements all across the board.

but of course, VSE is a bit niche area of Blender. Among other goodies: a bunch of geometry nodes stuff, OpenImageDenoise is now on GPU, the GPU compositor has way better feature parity with CPU one, a bunch of animation/rigging stuffs, etc.
...oh and also: you can drag & drop some model files (OBJ, USD, Alembic, STL, PLY) from your file explorer onto blender. Imagine that! Future! (not FBX / glTF yet though, that's for future)
@aras yes..... YES!! finally!!
@aras You are doing amazing work on Blender, sir 💯
@aras works with USDZ on the Mac - just discovered that!
@aras honestly drag and drop has been the biggest convenience upgrade in FOREVER
@aras I make trailers for my open source projects using blender and I use a lot of the features you improved so thank you very much for your work!!
I was amazed to learn how solid VSE was already a few years ago and this update makes it even more amazing. I'm sure it will only get more and more popular.
@aras I usually spin Blender for video montage, so anything to improve the workflow will be most welcome. Thank you for your work!
@aras I use Blender as my main video editor, thanks for the improvements!

@aras I've used the video editor in Blender A LOT, especially to block out videos because the playback is super seamless (especially compared to other stuff like AE that needs to pre-render to playback).

Any work on it is very appreciated! Thanks, Aras! 🎉

@aras Haha, amazing. And the new vector scope looks great! 😄
@aras I recall you writing about this a while back, really nice work!
@aras Awesome to see continued support and improvements to VSE! Thank you!
