Via Sherrilyn Ifill:

As I’ve been saying. #Musk may now be the most far reaching & influential peddler of eugenicist & racist propaganda in our country. Unfit to be a partner with U.S. agencies or to receive U.S. taxpayer dollars. But he’s “too big to fail,” b/c so many political & business leaders have poor character discernment when blinded by wealth.
Elon Musk keeps spreading a very specific kind of racism.

@GottaLaff

I like that: 'poor character discernment.'

@GottaLaff

He's actually the (renamed) primary antagonist of my second novel. Querying now!

A silver lining in every racist...

@GottaLaff

The first draft had Peter Thiel and Sam Bankman-Fried in it, as well, but I needed to streamline.

@GottaLaff

There was really no need to add anything after poor character discernment - unless it were to point out the described people are often assholes and describe all the ways in which this is true.

But, most people aren’t going to read a minimum of 64 500 character posts which would only begin to scratch the surface.

@GottaLaff
The politicians are not blinded by his wealth, they are beneficiaries or it. Money has always corrupted politics and big money corrupts it 'bigly'.
@GottaLaff Yes to all of it and the comments too
@GottaLaff I used to want a Tesla until I saw what kind of person Musk is.
I think I'll buy a Canoo if I decide to buy an EV.

@Luna Same, re Musk.

I love my i3. I’ve had 2, since 2015. But they stopped making them! I still have my 2018 model. Love it.

@GottaLaff Decades have gone by since Henry Ford and Hitler were besties, but I still have relatives half my age that will not buy a Ford vehicle.

@GottaLaff

“Too big to fail” is the biggest crock, such a huge lie perpetrated (and bought by gullible people) again and again. “Too big to fail” really means, “Holds far too much power, influence, and consequence to be allowed to continue in one basket”. We will *always* be better breaking them up: there will be a better, stronger, economy, better working conditions, more competition, and more resilience.

@DavidM_yeg @GottaLaff it's difficult to imagine today but the government broke up bell, a monopoly they themselves nurtured when the growth of telephony was no longer being served by it. bell didn't just accept that, there was an advertising and lobbying blitz by bell at the time even if lower key than it would be today.

these days, we'd consider banning the service itself (as several in congress have with social media) before even considering deconsolidating social media companies or anything else.
