On my annual to-do list is the production of a booklet for the #garmoshka (#garmon, #kromka), that little diatonic unisonoric #accordion which is easy to learn and yet has the musical potential of a 'real' instrument (in my opinion).
I'm convinced that tablature is irrelevant for this kind of instrument: it's better to learn to read music. BUT as interested people are often put off by the SOLFÈGE, I'd like to add a friendly TAB under the score. I'm working to find an easy system...
I've only got 25 buttons left to add!
Drawing intended to present the instrument and explain my tablature system, at the beginning of the book.

Here's what the final drawing looks like for a #garmoshka in G.
(I've represented it as the musician sees it when he puts it on his lap so, yes, at the bottom is the top but at the left is the left!)

Looks like if I get mine fixed this summer the repairer Julie Roque may be able to use this as a guide to reassembling the scattered bass parts rattling around inside
#accordion
@AccordionBruce Very cute! And a beautiful collection! There are few notes in the right hand. For the left hand, it is possible that each "chord" is also simplified (only 3th + 5th)? Good luck to Julie Roque, it's not always easy to repair these old things...

This little guy is so sadly torn up and mistreated — if we can get any sound out it will be like rescuing a pet

Any life would be better than what it’s got now

@AccordionBruce Oh, your garmoshka's here : https://youtu.be/OvECQTx5f4Q?feature=shared&t=48 (during 5 sec. and no sound, sadly).
