The neckline is ripping apart on this t-shirt and I’d like to repair it with a neat looking visible mend. Does anyone have a suggestion for a simple, but fun #VisibleMending technique I could use? I don’t know any crosstitch techniques, but I do have some cool embroidery thread and needle on hand. https://www.reddit.com/r/Visiblemending/

Thanks for all the tips today! This was my first #VisibleMending project and I went with @ChurchHatesTucker’s suggestion of using a buttonhole stitch on my #BlackbirdRaum shirt. I fixed three holes and added a few unnecessary flourishes to the silkscreened illustration.
@docpop I like the flourishes. Seems like a good way to practice embroidery.
@ChurchHatesTucker my only regret is that I started with the red thread on the biggest hole before I practiced. The light blue was my nicest set, but the hardest to see. If I had started with the flourishes, I would have been more practiced before I did the most noticeable section. Lesson learned. Thanks for the suggestion.
@docpop @ChurchHatesTucker i'm glad you posted the result, I was wondering how you would go! Looks good.
@docpop Love this. I taught myself mattress stitch & a few others earlier today on a piece of denim. I'm going to look through the wardrobe to find stuff to mend tomorrow. This is a great idea.
@Heidiknits I hadn’t heard of the mattress stitch before I’d love to see the project you were working on. I mostly work with denim myself.

@docpop No project today. Just learning. This is what I did. Mattress stitch is top right. The thread is actually 100% silk lace weight yarn that I've had kicking around forever. I'll reuse this yarn over & over. It's sturdy & can take a beating. Perfect for learning. Makes bold stitches, which is what I'm looking for. I hope you keep finding projects to keep you busy. I find it relaxing. My hands get tired though.
