I do not understand components and coordinate systems in Fusion 360. Because of that, I may have lost the design I've been drawing all week.

I changed a parameter, and half the things that should have moved did move, and half did not. Curves that had been closed were no longer closed, and things got worse from there.

It looks like parameters used in the Move/Copy command don't update? Do I have to use a rigid joint to fix every component?

Advice welcome.

@kbob I haven’t used parameters in Move/Copy, so I don’t know whether they update or not (I’ll try tomorrow).

Hopefully, you have saved your design often, so you should be able to revert to a previous version without loosing a lot of the changes you made.

Hope this helps.

@Siff The problem is, I really want to change that parameter's value. I knew it was a placeholder value from the beginning.
@Siff The philosophical view is that this is a hobby, and time spent on the hobby is time well spent, even if it's redoing something. I don't fully embrace that view...

@kbob It’s a late reply, but I’m hoping that this will help:
I tried, and “Move/Copy” doesn’t retain the parameter when in “Free move” mode. However, it retains the parameter in “Translate” and “Point-to-Point” modes, so updating the “Move” to use one of them might work in your case.

Redoing is time well spent only when there is something to learn or there is something to improve (but then it is not a redo…)
