I like dark blue and purple equally.

arch linux
Ahh the colour of masochist.

Arch is too comfortable to be a masochism thing :P Get Gentoo at least, or why even bother :P

(I’ve used both muchly but currently use Arch (bytheway) because my poor CPU’s feeling really potatoey latelish 😾)

muchly

😆 I’m gonna use that word muchly from now on

I remember back in the day when people used Gentoo because it was more user friendly.

For odd reasons, I think I like a very specific shade of green (around 525nm) because it shows a lot of promise in reducing migraine headaches in severity, frequency, and duration. It’s an example of what’s called photobiomodulation, which is a technical term for using non-ionizing infrared/visible light to signal your body to do certain things (ionizing radiation is the damaging stuff that has more energy, like UV rays).

Another example is using red light therapy to help wounds heal faster and improve skin quality. Red or infrared light exposure for therapeutic reasons was investigated by NASA and adopted by the US Navy.

So it’s probably not the reasons you were looking for, but I love those colors because they heal people :)

Evaluation of green light exposure on headache frequency and quality of life in migraine patients: A preliminary one-way cross-over clinical trial - PubMed

Green light emitting diodes significantly reduced the number of headache days in people with episodic migraine or chronic migraine. Additionally, green light emitting diodes significantly improved multiple secondary outcome measures including quality of life and intensity and duration of the headach …

I asked for your favourite colour which you delivered and I learned something new, so I can’t complain.
Jeans
I would have been disappointed in this place if someone didn’t say jeans.
Stroganoff, I like earth tones.
As long as it’s legume

Dark green, mustard yellow, purple and whatever this is called:

And colors that give me nostalgia like traffic light yellow or a specific shade of light blue.

That looks similar to the Disney go away green, which is an interesting colour to look into.
Orange. Pure orange, yellow orange, neon, burnt. Not so much red-orange, but I do love oranges that have a bit of a pink sheen, like padparadscha sapphires.
You’re like my mum, she absolutely loves orange!
Purple.
Like dark purple? Light purple? Or just all the purples are cool in your book?
The darker ones I like better, especially the metallic ones.
Yeah dark metallic purple is awesome, looks awesome on cars.
Got a friend whose motorcycle is dark purple metallic that changes to dark green metallic. It’s fantastic. I need that as a nail polish.
Death to all but the emperor who dare wear it!
I don’t have a favorite color. I guess I have a preference for certain colors in certain places, but I like them all.
Yellow! I used to hate it but after I started playing Splatoon it really grew on me and now it is my preferred color of choice
Ultraviolet. It makes other colors look cool. And it kills stuff.
Your favorite color is one you can’t even see? That’s pretty badass, ngl.

Tell me you love Discworld without saying you love Discworld.

All the people providing very specific and complex answers and meanwhile I’m over here like

Brown.

It’s coffee, it’s meat, it’s wood, it’s orange, but darker.

If we are allowed shades, then black, if not then probably green or red.
Hot pink because it is girly, yet aggressive.
Black. It’s easy on eyes
Orange. And when my students would ask why, I would tell them that it’s a bright color like red, but red is an angry color - stop, fire, mad emoji. Orange is a happy red!
Yellow is a happy orange!

Cyan. Not just blue but cyan. Slightly neon, not sky blue pastel.

Especially if paired with black, it pops.

For me, it’s azure blue, the color between cyan and blue. It’'s just poppier than blue blue especially when combined with black and white.
Non-blue grey. A lot of greys will have a blue tint. I like grey that doesn’t have that blue tint. I like it because it’s a neutral color that’s easy to match bright colors to, but it doesn’t feel dated like beige. If I had to pick a specific shade, I’d pick 50% grey, but I like a lot of greys.
Pink, and it sucks that everything pink is more expensive. Specifically, I like pastel pinks, like baby pink.
you’re not alone, hence the cost
As a neon pink fan I wish there was less pastel pink

My fav is hex B5A9FD

you’re beneath me

I only see in the radio spectrum, but 1420 MHz is quite tranquil.
Well the thing about that is, well, what is color? Is it, as Sam Harris would say, the way light reflects off an object and reacts in the eye, or is it something more? Y’know Carl Jung put forth that color represent- ed more than a spectrum of light but a representation of one’s inner character, roughly speaking. So is it enough to have a favorite color, or should the right question be “what is the color that best represents your personality?” Your big five personality more specifically. When people ask me this question, as they inevitably do, I can’t help but think “you absolute son of a bitch”. To think that our desire for simple answers can lead us to be so arrogrant is absurd. Just look at the Bible for God’s sake. In the Bible, I can’t remember exactly where at the moment, it is said that the heavens are as a paved work of sapphire stone. So Heaven is seen as blue, as it’s often thought of to be in the sky as well. I mean obviously! So maybe the answer should be blue, not just for me but for all of us. Because Heaven is when the balance of chaos and order are set in perfect order. That’s the idea. But then why do we use blue as a metaphor for sadness? Well that brings up another interesting point that Foucault struggled with. He said that…
