Students at Indian schools get books that teach them about open source applications like Krita. This is how all government should spend tax payers money and not on proprietary stuff. #linux #opensource credit https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/1bfxqan/never_knew_that_indian_government_has_actually/

@nixCraft

Any idea where to get a copy ?

@nixCraft India also has a pretty high market share of Linux desktop users
@nixCraft Indian textbooks up to high school are also open-source.
@nixCraft Maybe there is even better way to spend money.

There is a tutorial how to draw a line in GIMP. You absolutely need to read that tutorial to draw a line, and you need to review it if you haven't drawn a line in a few months.

I totally need a similar tutorial on how to crop an image in Krita.

Maybe spending some money on UX would not hurt.

@nixCraft Pretty sure this is in kerala, the state where I live. Here, the government is pro foss. In my college, we use ubuntu in our computer labs.

But i was in cbse school so couldn't get to use linux in school lab. I do have it in my own pc tho, linux mint livin' alongside win 11.

@nixCraft looks neat, they even include a QR code for phones.
@nixCraft Oooh, QR codes and creative tech in textbooks... we've literally come a long way 😁 (In 2010, we were stuck with learning DOS).
@nixCraft "_an_ image editing software." Well, FOSS++, writing--.
@nixCraft This more than proofs that most open-source software can replace proprietary ones if given the market to do so!
@nixCraft "After reading this chapter, you should be able to what is Krita" ✔️
@nixCraft this post tells Microsoft that there is another Market they can buy by giving the government free licenses for education. The schools then do the free advertising and you end up with adults who think that a computer equals windows.
