Uncached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of Terry Pratchett's Johnny and the Bomb (The Johnny Maxwell Trilogy Book 3). Clearly, this is not the first book in the series -- that's ONLY YOU CAN SAVE MANKIND -- but this one is cheap right now, and is reasonably standalone. Or, at least, you don't get much more information than you do in the first one.
This is the first book that caused me to email an author and say he was being TOO CRUEL to his characters.
(Specifically, there is a throwaway reference to a wizard or sword in a cave, and I realized that there was a whole *world* of trouble out there for Johnny. How is this kid still *sane*? And, yes, he is very sane.)
Story-wise, this book shoves racism right in your face, and once again I ❤️ pterry for it. It also has time travel, and more TMBG references, and a happy ending. You know, for the kids!
Read the book. It's $2 in the US right now if they all get claimed, which I do expect to happen.
