China: “Remove all VPNs”
Apple: “Sure thing”

China: “…and podcast apps”
Apple: “Can do boss!”

China: “…and also hand over all iCloud data for our citizens”
Apple: “I mean why wouldn’t we? Here you go!”

EU: “Allow alternate app stores, and do it fairly”
Apple: “Ahhh hell no! This is so unfair you guys are bullies! Malware! Privacy! We have standards! Unlike you we care about our users!”

@rustyshelf in fairness, China's requests don't risk Apple's app revenue.
@s20 @rustyshelf so that makes it okay?
@afif @rustyshelf nope. Just explaining why Apple cares about one and not the other.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda surprised anyone would have this take on a what I said. Thought I was pretty safe with everyone understanding the irony here. I mean, I know I'm on the Internet and everything, but I really thought, just this once, I didn't need a neon sign.

Ahh, well. That's on me I guess.
@s20 @rustyshelf don’t worry about it mate
@afif @rustyshelf you're not great with subtext, huh?

I'm good, friend. Usually am.
