When I opened my digital Sunday newspaper reading I was surprised to see a German translation of #Enshittification right at the top. I thought "Oh, at last the word arrived in Germany," before I saw it is a translated essay¹ by @pluralistic himself.

Translating is a hard job. No question. But the text again confirmed my preference, to read the original (if I can). It uses several phrases, that are common in English, but very unusual in German.

@PiiiepsBrummm @pluralistic To be honest, #verschlimmscheisserung is a pretty good and fitting translation of the word. It‘s a somewhat common word but not earmarked to anything specific, only to make something good worse to „improve“ it. I like it it, actually.
