At the age of 18, #Viacheslav_Yalov became the guardian of his two brothers and two sisters. Their mother was killed by an enemy shell.
The children managed to evacuate from their native #Verkhnotoretske, #Donetsk region, before the settlement was occupied by #Russian troops.
On March 17, 2022, #Viacheslav and his mother were returning home when two shells exploded ten meters away. The boy was stunned, he tried to save his mother, called for help, bandaged her with his clothes, but failed.
"My mom was killed. She died in my arms. I tried to save her, but... I failed. Her last words were, "It's okay," #Viacheslav said.
#Viacheslav_Yalov became the legal guardian of the children to prevent them from being taken to orphanages. He has found the strength and courage to take on a huge responsibility and bring up his brothers and sisters, calling them his children. In the future, #Viacheslav dreams of opening his own business.
