This short (4'30'') poetic performance by Indian actress and activist Kalki Koechlin is breathtaking.
It's called "Dear Men"

When I found the performance's β¬οΈ video, I already knew Ms. Koechlin, as some time before I had stumbled upon
"Rape - It's your fault".
It's tough stuff. Only watch (3'35'') if you're able to stand hefty sarcasm.

Let's finalise this thread by perhaps one of the most impressive poetry performances I have ever seen.
"The Printing Machine" deals with a variety of topics, but predominantly with the commodification of sexual violence by a ruthless media industry feeding the public's morbid fascination with this topic.
Written and performed by Kalki Koechlin
Even if it weren't for the message, her voice alone is enough reason to watch it.

I think it's perfect
Thank you, Mina
I'm just trying to find the text...
I don't understand everything...you know my English...I'm already struggling to read english...
In any case, really impressive
Everything the video, the text, Kary is impressive just stunning
You somehow show me which project I should tackle next...
Thanks to @HistoPol
I had already started something...
Heading..."The Indictment paper" because it's so huge so far
Somehow my things are getting longer and longer
I have now a subtitled version online.
However: There are some references to Indian news and culture, we might not entirely understand.
I don't think, it takes anything of the message away.
On the contrary: It shows, how universal the vicious news cycle, we are all part of, really is.

I did! Repeatedly.
But unfortunately, It didn't really work, except for the Germans and the Swiss (and there also only partly).
Don't get me wrong: I love it here, but I wish, the Fediverse idea spread a bit more.
Thank you very much Mina β€οΈ π
You are unique
I will watch it later
I wanted to continue the Indictment paper, but instead i started a new one (the forth in the "only he" series)
I think it is good like that, I can watch now these videos again and find the spirit to continue the Indictment paper
The time for the Indictment paper was not today i guess
The time will come
The topic of rape needs a really strong text so I will let destiny decide when it is time to end it
I can agree with your summary, Mina.
@mina.
The #Dadaistic performance of #KalkiKoechlin, "The Printing Machine - Unblushed" is very impressive, artistic, and also disturbing...which is why I've added a #CW, as it might trigger a lot of people, some of whom are my followers.
Any other adult should watch it.
Further warning: near-native level of #English is required.
As you've been so kind as 2 provide a subtitled version, that's easierπ

Vicious but really good
Just right sarcastically to the point
Thanks for sharing, Mina
@mina
In contrast 2 her other 2 very impressive videos, this satirical clip of #KalkiKoechlin's did not convince me.
I'm a true fan of the works of @thejuicemedia, who, arguably, are currently the benchmark for political and social satire in a video clip format around here.
#Koechlin's clip is produced in that style +I can't even say that she did a poor job at mimicking it.
I couldn't shake off the dissonance I felt b/w the subject and the style.
Thanks a lot for sharing, @mina
I think every teenager and adult should listen to this impassionate speech by an #Indian actress on what it means to be a woman.
