I watched 2 episodes of #Misaeng and it's so good! I guess it quite accurately portrays office life in South Korea.
I'm a bit bothered by the gender imbalance, there should have been more female characters imho, but mother and colleague have enough screen time to compensate.

#ImSiwan never disappoints as actor. Looking forward to see him in #SquidGame2 too!

@s1m0n4 "I guess it quite accurately portrays office life in South Korea."

Except for the final 2 episodes, which destroyed the show for me. I VERY MUCH doubt they accurately depict office life in South Korea. 😑

@ronsboy67 Could you elaborate? I'm now at episode 4 and everything I saw so far looks plausible.

@s1m0n4 The last 2 episodes see the cast off to Jordan, allegedly related to industrial espionage in episodes that climax in actual ripoff/homage to the Petra scenes in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I think I am on fairly solid ground in saying that it seems unlikely such desert escapades are part of ordinary office life in South Korea. The abruput switch from pure slice of life to absurd (and unoriginal) fantasy ruined the Drama for me
@s1m0n4 Further to the above , I should stress that the incidents are presented as actually happening, not some sort of dream/fantasy. That's why they irked me so much. Up to about episode 12, it was a solid favourite #KDrama

@ronsboy67 The opening scenes in first episode hinted at that espionnage and action plot twist in Petra. So it's not totally unexpected.
Apart from that, everything going on on first episodes doesn't feel far-fetched from reality.

@s1m0n4 Yes, it was foreshadowed in the very opening, but to me, it's still patently absurd that a Seoul office supply company would be in the situation depicted in the finale. It's tonally very jarring, and they make ZERO attempt to pretend that the end of the very last episode isn't a straight ripoff of the Indy Jones movie.

As I said, the reason I hated it so much is thst for the first 12 or so, it's TOTALLY mundane and believable, literal slice-of-life, and one of the best.

@ronsboy67 I'll let you know my final thoughts about it when I complete it.
Right now I'm totally hooked! Like you were until episode 14 πŸ˜‰
@s1m0n4 If I recall, you're in Luxembourg, so maybe stapler-sellers doubling as spies is more the norm for you there than here in quiet little AotearoaπŸ˜€
@ronsboy67 Ahahah πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I've been living in Luxembourg during my university years. I don't know if it changed lately, but I remember it as a quite boring country. Perfect to focus on studying,
I live in Northern France now.
