It's kinda funny to see people who haven't eaten out in years get upset somewhere is closing and say "😔 sad this restaurant is closing I have so many good memories here. 😭"

All I'm saying is if you really cared you'd actually eat there. It feels performative.

@Elizafox I think maybe it's nostalgia a bit. Like, both in the sense that our economy is shit and getting worse, and that other people won't get to experience it. Idk if performative is the right word but I get the feeling.
@Elizafox when our local Sea Galley (the very last one) announced they were closing their sales suddenly shot up. Unfortunately low sales were not the reason they were closing, they had to close because their landlords refused to renew their lease. They tore it down (but not before someone lit it on fire) and are replacing it with a Texas Roadhouse

I will miss that place, I used to go every year for my birthday, we'd sit in the same table and get the same server every time
