why we need to bring back crts: cats can lay on them :3
@[email protected] do we need crt's or just the crt box format? would be cool to have a modern panel and then just a lot of storage in a case shaped like this + cats can still lay on them
@m0on9 @nano we need the warmth they generate and the color gamut and the no native resolution of multiscan ones
@wyatt8740
Not to mention having no input latency is great for gaming
@m0on9 @nano

@phi1997 @m0on9 @nano definitely, although tbh modern multitasking OSes combined with bad programming work to introduce a lot of lag into many video games that a CRT won't solve. :p

It will make it a little less bad though!

I personally don't notice my IPS panels' lag (Dell U2410H and Dell U2412M) - although my plasma TV is REALLY bad.

@m0on9 @nano imagine an entire computer stuffed in there
@nano or even oleds disguised as Crts :3

@nano

CRT TV were purpose built cat warmers and beds 🙂🤷‍♂️

@nano and I guess they appreciate the heat...
@nano why is there so much stuff open, what is this feline up to,,
@nano i wonder if their paws are fuzzy from the static and if they like that
@nano why we don't need to being back CRTs: the sound they make
@bunni @nano memories of trying to explain to people when I was a kid that you could always tell if a TV was on, muted and without seeing it, because of the noise
@lytta @bunni @nano So, did you get a diagnosis since then?
@csaki01 @bunni i had to diagnose myself first, but yes 😂
@lytta @bunni Nice, I looked into it, multiple year long wait list, no benefits... so I just left it be.
@[email protected] this is true i would absolutely do this
@nano My first thought was Ring (1998) xD
@nano Please don't. Our 6 months old kitten is already in my work space too much. He is a love, but really intrusive especially when I am, on a deadline.
@nano Counter argument, they are literal ray cannons aimed at your eyeballs...
@nano and kids today have no idea how cool that degauss button was!
@[email protected] cat crt. cart. crat. idk :3
@nano my late cat Zapata would totally agree, she fell flat on het face 3 times when the monitor was replacement by a flatscreen, while trying to jump on top.
