nerdy_popculture_referenceI've really been hoping that Mastodon can become a replacement for leftist news for me. I had previously been using Facebook. But as an example of why I no longer see it as viable is ... well. I have seen exactly one leftist page I follow talk about Bushnell's self-immolation protest, and that was to say "he should've set himself on fire inside the embassy." As though he'd've even been able to get inside. What a useless take. And then I have seen exactly zero talk about Nex Benedict.
About the only thing Facebook seems to be good for these days is shitposting - which can be fun, but is like junk food for the brain. Or getting harassed by bigots and fashies - which is the opposite of fun.
