Hey everyone. I've kept this Mastodon site up for a good long time now, and I'm glad to have been able to provide social media service to folks as Twitter collapsed in on itself.
But lately, given political trends and laws being passed, I've felt that this server has become a risk on my person. I run this site myself, pay for all the hosting myself, and have no one out there really to help me if something bad happens legally or politically or otherwise.
So, with that said, I've made a decision. On Apr 27, I'll be looking to shut this service down and discontinue it. This just isn't something that I feel comfortable doing or being responsible for anymore.
That should give everyone about two months to migrate to new servers or switch networks altogether.
If you want my recommendation on places to go, I'd say meow.social or infosec.exchange as big, well run instances that seem like decent places to start.
I apologize to anyone who will feel bummed out about this. I'm very sorry. Just that like I said - given trends in the world - this isn't something that I want to do anymore.

@prannon It is a disappointment from a point of view that I've become quite comfortable in this little corner of the Fediverse, but I understand your reasoning and appreciate the time you've given us all to get our affairs in order, you've been entirely fair and very responsible about it all.
