Lots of #AISolutionism carries the caveat 'but of course we'll have a human review it.'

Which is weird to say if you're also saying you want to save money by using AI. Because if you have to check the AI's output, you're spending MORE time than you did before.

Which is all beside the point, because everyone in these conversations knows in their gut that if we ever do have humans in the loop, we'll cut them out (de facto or by design) after trivially few iterations.
#AIHype #GenerativeAI

I'm gonna say this again, just in case someone thought I was mumbling: 'We will have a human review #AI decisions' is almost always bullshit; & when it's not #bullshit, it's self-delusion.
#AIHype #GenerativeAI
If we incorporate #generativeAI the way we're pretending we're going to incorporate generative #AI, it's going to cost more in time, effort, & obviously money. Since the mandate almost always boils down to 'use AI', not 'make things better', we'll just stop doing the checking.

@FeralRobots @paninid

Why not just have another AI do the reviews?

@bflipp @paninid
BRILLIANT! YOU'VE SAVED THE INDUSTRY!
Next: Just replace the users with AI, too!

I think it’s hilarious that in the Cyberpunk universe lore they had to build a new internet because the old internet was so polluted/controlled by AIs they just walled it off and built a new one. We’re likely actually going to have to do that eventually.

I wonder what the rules for a new Internet would be

Synthetic Chernobyl — Superversive

My cyberpunk pastime in Midjourney is to imagine thousands of salt-and-thorium mini-reactors powering desalination plants supporting walkable American villages with e-rickshaws. Microsoft is training language models to generate documentation to build nuclear reactors. That is the solarpunk future

In the Cyberpunk universe the new internet was built by corporations for corporations. 👍

@FeralRobots We will incoorporate Ai into a task as soon as it is on-par or above human level performance at that task (which already happens at some tasks, and there is no conceptual reason why it will never be on-par for any task)

At this point, we will use the same safeguards we use for the human workers that being replaced.

On-par with human level performance means it does not make a difference whether we take a person, or a computer. Better means humans are a liability

@Juro I genuinely envy you that your organization is behind that.
