I’ve always considered a “favourite” as “Marked as read”. It does say so on my profile.
We have “Bookmarks” for evidence retention…

I was mostly joking but with your reply, I noticed that I have only bookmarked four posts, and not very sensibly at that. I think I'm going to need to bookmark this one for now ... more useful than the four I have.

My "favorite" tends to mean that I was struck in some way by the post, or else simply to acknowledge a reply, particularly when no further comment is in order. But what should have been bookmarked is also in there. Thanks!
